Soft Tissue Procedures
Soft tissue procedures in the medical and dental
context involve the manipulation, treatment, or surgery of non-bony tissues, primarily
focusing on muscles, skin, and organs. In dentistry, soft tissue procedures often pertain to
the oral cavity and surrounding structures. Common soft tissue dental procedures include
gingival (gum) surgeries, such as gingivectomies for reshaping the gum line, and
frenectomies to remove or alter the bands of tissue connecting the lips, tongue, or cheeks
to the jaw.
